Dear Colleague,

it is our great pleasure to announce the 2nd Ultrasound Meets Cytopathology - A Practical Course on the Management of Nodular Thyroid Disease workshop, which will be held in Mátraháza, Hungary, April 12-14, 2018. Please save the dates in your calendar! For details, please visit www.uscyto.com, the official website of the meeting.

Ultrasound Meets Cytopathology is a unique initiative to bring clinicians, radiologists and cytopathologists closer to each other in order to increase their diagnostic skills as members of an evaluation team on nodular goiter. This meeting is organized in close cooperation with the European Thyroid Association and several Hungarian national societies.

The number of participants is limited to 50, since the 3 full day intense course focuses on the practical aspects of thyroid ultrasound and cytopathology with the possibility of ultrasound examination on real patients. The basis of microscopic practice is a selection from 50 000 thyroid smears. We invite you to visit the homepage www.thyrosite.com for an impression.

Lectures by several internationally leading experts and key opinion leaders in thyroidology (Prof. L.Hegedûs, Prof. E.Papini, Prof. F.Schmitt, Prof. P.Vielh) ensure an update on current trends and knowledge in various fields, e.g. molecular biology, non-surgical therapies and the Bethesda system.

On site a detailed handout will be provided for all participants. In addition, all lecturers will be available for discussions during the full length of the three-day course.

We hope to create an unusually pleasant and friendly atmosphere and fruitful relationship among the participants and the lecturers, similarly to the 1st Ultrasound Meets Cytopathology course held in 2017. Colleagues from 14 countries participated in this first event.

Mátraháza is located in the Hungarian highlands, within an hour’s travel from Budapest, which makes the capital an exciting destination for a pre- or post-conference visit.

The workshop will be organized by the highly professional group of Convention Budapest Ltd. (www.convention.hu).

We, as organizers, are sure that you will have a wonderful time in Hungary. Please, come and join us in Mátraháza in April 2018!
