Conference of the Association of Breast Pathologists (ABP)

2020.09.25. - 21:54

The ABP was set up in 2018 as a speciality society for breast pathologists that aims to promote breast pathology and be a major voice for breast pathology across the UK. It caters for specialist breast pathologists, general pathologists, trainees and medical scientists working in screening and symptomatic services.

There have been two very successful ABP annual meetings so far. The meeting format is for consultant-led interactive teaching with Q&A sessions that focuses on practical topics relevant to routine practice.

The full program for the meeting on October 9th can be found on the ABP website (https://www.associationofbreastpathology.com).

A summary of the topics to be covered include:

  • COVID-19 and Breast Cancer
  • Genomic testing on core biopsies
  • Is there a role for Ki-67 in triage?
  • Feedback from other specialities (surgeon, radiologist and oncologist)
  • Changes in pathology practice from pathologists in different settings-the good, bad and ugly!
  • How to assess a specimen following neo adjuvant or bridging endocrine treatment?
  • What’s new in the updated RCPath and ICCR (International Collaboration on Cancer Reporting) cancer datasets?
  • Live Interactive MDT cases (time and technology permitting)

Registration rates are very reasonable:

ABP Member £40
Non member £50
Trainee and BMS £10

(note: The registration process is via the RCPAth website but you do not need to be a member of the RCPath to register for the ABP meeting. You will however need to set up a username and password with RCPath.)
